What is Piksi?

Ranking a long list is hard. You stare at 30 options and freeze. But picking between two things? That is easy. Piksi turns big ranking decisions into a stream of simple A-or-B choices. Over time, your true preferences emerge naturally -- one easy question at a time.

Think of it as decision support. Whether you are ranking your top movies, choosing a wedding cake, shortlisting baby names, or prioritising a product backlog, Piksi helps you learn about your own preferences by breaking the problem down into the smallest possible decisions.

Why not just make a list?

Lists work when you already know your ranking. But when you are genuinely unsure -- when you have too many options, or the differences are subtle -- forcing yourself to arrange them in order is overwhelming. Piksi removes that burden. You never have to think about the whole list. Just answer: which of these two do you prefer? Piksi handles the rest, building a statistically confident ranking from your answers.

How it works

1. Create a deck -- group the things you want to rank.
2. Add items -- fill your deck with options to compare.
3. Compare pairs -- pick your favourite from each matchup. Piksi chooses the most informative pairs for you.
4. Watch rankings form -- confidence grows with each comparison. Stop whenever you are satisfied.

The Algorithm

Piksi uses the Glicko-2 rating system to track how confident it is in each item's position. Every item starts uncertain. As you make comparisons, uncertainty drops and the ranking stabilises. Piksi also selects pairs intelligently, prioritising matchups that will reduce uncertainty the fastest -- so you reach a confident ranking in fewer comparisons.
